Kim Jung-Hee
Abstract
Purpose : In this study, we investigated the progression of myopia in teenagers before and after COVID-19.

Methods : This study analyzed pre- and post-pandemic teenagers aged 14~16 years who visited an optician in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, without ocular disease, and recorded eyeglass prescriptions at least once a year.

Results : As a result of tracking and analyzing eyeglass prescriptions before and after corona 19 for 3 years, the amount of myopia change in the right eye appeared larger than that in the left eye. The age-specific refractive error was highest in 14 year olds compared to 15, 16 year olds pre-corona, and higher or similar to 15, 16 year olds post-corona. The speed of myopia progression increased to the maximum at 14 years of age compared to 15 and 16 years before and after corona As a result of comparing the amount of spherical refractive error equivalent to corona transfer and post-corona transfer in the first year and the third year, the corona transfer was ?0.68¡¾0.52 D, and after corona was ?1.01¡¾0.55 D. It turned out that myopia increased greatly after corona.

Conclusion : The progression of myopia in teenagers has accelerated after corona compared to before corona. Propose continued and additional research in the country to prevent the progression of vision loss and myopia in adolescents
